- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I received word yesterday, April 29, 2017, during the flooding in Neosho, Mo that the Water Treatment plant shut down due to the flooding conditions. This action is TOTALLY unacceptable!!! I know, because my father was Superintendent of the Neosho Water Plant when the creeks in this area flooded when I was a child. The plant was serving both the city of Neosho AND 10,000 Army troops at Camp Crowder. They ran three shifts, seven days a week. They NEVER shut the water plant down FOR ANY REASON! My Dad later developed the internationally known Water and Wastewater Technical School located on Camp Crowder, and Director of the World Health Organization. He knew how to keep Neosho's water, & Camp Crowders water safe and pumping! OBVIOUSLY, the current Superintendent does not have that capability or knowledge, placing the citizens of Neosho in jeopardy of water born diseases! SAD!!! (BTW: I know a little of what I'm talking about, as I grew up in the industry, holding a Class A license in water treatment, but chose to become a law enforcement officer instead.)
